The 1998 ZX-6R was the 'G series' update of the 598 cc original, with a redesigned airbox that lifted power and a revamped fairing. It kept the same liquid-cooled DOHC four and gained 46 mm Showa forks, six-piston front calipers and a 170 section rear tyre. It is the middle step between the 1995 launch bike and the 1999-2001 models.
